Drug & Alcohol Awareness

The Union Area School Board and Administration have established a "Drug Awareness Policy". The policy establishes the responsibilities and provides guidelines for all parties in the school community. It sets forth the corrective measures for drug violations and provides clear guidelines for students and teachers if drug related incidents occur. The primary emphasis in the awareness policy is prevention, and again education is the most efficient and effective intervention method. Therefore, all students in grades K-12 undergo drug and alcohol abuse education each year. The curriculum is based on tested drug education materials.
